It’s been a while, but we have some new Lovecraftian game news to discuss from the past week!
Spec Ops Designer & Nine Inch Nails Guitarist Announce Cosmic Horror Game
Cory Davis, the creative director and designer for Spec Ops: The Line, and Robin Finck from Nine Inch Nails announced that they have formed a new game studio called Eyes Out. While their first game hasn’t been revealed yet, it is being described as a cosmic horror game.
They aren’t strangers to the horror genre; Davis also worked on Condemned 2 and F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point, as well as the VR horror game Here They Lie. It will be interesting to see what this new cosmic horror game will be like.
Retro FPS Forgive Me Father Announced
A horror first-person shooter styled after classics from the 90s has been announced by Byte Barrel and 1C Entertainment. Titled Forgive Me Father, it is set in a comic book styled world inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s work. According to the official Steam page, it will feature two playable characters, a dark story with occult themes, and a dynamic sanity system.
Forgive Me Father will enter Steam Early Access this October.
Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 Announced
1C Entertainment also announced Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 from LLC Blini Games, a sequel to their previous action RPG roguelite. It will feature 6 playable characters, an advanced crafting system, and a new online co-op mode.
Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 will enter Steam Early Access this October, with three of its characters playable.
