A little over three years ago, a Kickstarter campaign was funded for a visual novel called The Miskatonic.
It is a side-scrolling comedy visual novel with adventure game elements (or possibly survival horror elements) set at Miskatonic University that takes a lighter approach to Lovecraft’s work.
Now a new trailer is available, showing a timeline of events leading up to the game’s events.
While it’s a simple trailer, it’s amusing and has several references to Lovecraft’s stories. It’s also meant to show where the game’s inspiration comes from.
Lovecraftian horror is great, but Lovecraft parodies can also be entertaining. The Miskatonic doesn’t have a release date yet, but the trailer’s description says “Coming very soon.”
