Assemble Entertainment has announced a new choose-your-own-adventure game developed by Robot Pumpkin Games called The Innsmouth Case.

The Innsmouth Case is described as combining horror and comedy to make “the first scary-comedy-text-adventure of its kind,” which is a bold claim to make. You play a detective of dubious skill whose investigation into a disappearance leads you to the town of Innsmouth.

It is based on Lovecraft’s work and has 27 different endings based on your choices as you investigate. Judging by the screenshots, it will be largely text-based interactive fiction. The Innsmouth Case is planned for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android and will be out in Q2 2020.
