October is the perfect month for horror, and we have a few pieces of news to look at this week!
Theatre of Sorrows Announced
Cat-astrophe Games has announced Theatre of Sorrows, a Lovecraftian 2D roguelike about a man who travels to the mysterious island of Esha to rescue his sister from a sinister cult.
According to its Steam page, Theatre of Sorrows will feature a procedurally-generated map and randomized events, a branching narrative with multiple endings, resource management, and more.
It will be released on January 13 for PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
Darkest Dungeon II Early Access Trailer and Darkest Dungeon Board Game
Darkest Dungeon II will be entering early access in just a few days on October 26, and an Early Access launch trailer was released this week.
The trailer provides a look at Darkest Dungeon II’s gameplay features and combat. The Early Access period will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
Hunter’s Journals Art Sales Dilemma
We’ve discussed the Hunter’s Journals interactive fiction series quite often over the years, most recently with the Tattered Sails review. The art is always a highlight, and you might recall that Grindwheel Games partnered with Shark Robot to sell prints of the games’ cover art.
However, currently the cover art for Tattered Sails can’t be made available as a print due to low sales of the others.
So, bad news.
Due to low sales, Shark Robot cannot take the cover of Tattered Sails. Without more interest, may have to remove the current covers from the store.
If you want to see more art available, please take a look!https://t.co/dWiJAIuFJK#sharkrobot, #indiegames

So if you’ve been interested in the Hunter’s Journals art prints and hope to see more, this is the ideal time for you to pick them up from Shark Robot.
Conclusion
That’s it for this week’s news round-up, but I’m sure more exciting cosmic horror game news is just around the corner.
