Although Overflow Games revealed their upcoming game Darkbolt back in February, it’s gained traction now due to its appearance on Steam, as well as the release of a short prototype demo on itch.io.
Darkbolt is a roguelite top-down shooter that will feature permadeath and procedural generation for its world. It also involves resource management and will feature a persistent base.
It is set during the 1800s and you play “survivors of a Lovecraftian apocalypse,” although the full details of that are unknown. Videos available on the developer’s Youtube channel, as well as the prototype demo, give a better idea of the atmosphere and tone.
The release window for Darkbolt has yet to be announced.
